What is the purpose of the Cologenix Pre-View test?

The test is designed to detect bowel cancer.

Is the cell collection procedure painful?

Feedback from those who have undergone the test indicate that the test is not painful. Some mild discomfort may be experienced during the routine examination (which takes about 15 seconds).

Will I need an anaesthetic?

No.

How long does the cell collection procedure take?

The procedure is usually completed in less than two minutes.

How long will it take to get my results?

Results are processed within a few days and your Doctor will discuss the results with you. Your Doctor will be able to retrieve the results of your test securely via our online system.

What can I eat and drink prior to the cell collection procedure?

It is important that you:

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to the cell collection procedure.
  • Eat nothing for 6 hours prior to the cell collection procedure.
  • Drink only water for 6 hours prior to the cell collection procedure.
